CHARMEY, Switzerland, September 01, 2011 – Fookes Software has announced the release of Aid4Mail 2. The upgrade adds scripting abilities and delivers improvements in email migration, filtering, archiving, and conversions.
"Aid4Mail 2 provides a unique combination of features. You simply won't find another product that can import and convert email as successfully, and from as many different formats, as Aid4Mail 2," comments Eric Fookes, founder of Fookes Software, developer of the popular email conversion tool.
Aid4Mail 2 supports even more mail formats than before – over 40 – including the IMAP protocol. This feature is very robust and has been used for several large-scale migrations to cloud-based services like Gmail, Google Apps, Yahoo! Mail, and Outlook Live (Microsoft Live@edu). It also works well for merging several webmail accounts into one (for example, Gmail to Gmail migrations).
The accuracy of the email conversion engine has been further improved and sets Aid4Mail 2 apart from the competition, especially in its ability to migrate to or from Outlook and Exchange. Aid4Mail 2 continues to enable many other popular migrations, including from Thunderbird to Outlook (or to Windows Live Mail), Eudora to Outlook, and Windows Live Mail to Thunderbird.
The new scripting engine can be used to develop extremely flexible and powerful filtering scripts and custom export formats. Sample scripts demonstrate how to search messages, extract information for analysis, and create logs and special file types.
Scripting makes it easy for Aid4Mail to perform non-standard tasks that would normally require expensive custom software solutions.
Email filtering has also been extended to support search criteria with wildcards and even Perl-compatible regular expressions.
Aid4Mail includes an e-discovery edition that is one of the rare products specialized in the field of email. Several well-known e-discovery and forensic software products use an OEM version of Aid4Mail Console to cover the processing of email data.
Aid4Mail Professional, eDiscovery, and Console support email conversions to less common formats like CSV, TSV, XML, and even user-defined export formats.
The tool also enables users to convert email to Adobe PDF. Legal professionals are using Aid4Mail to save mail into PDF/A files (a special type of PDF), which are being adopted by federal courts in the U.S. as the standard format for electronic filing.
Aid4Mail 2 offers unique archiving features. You can choose to archive mail to a nonproprietary, highly compressed ZIP file format, or to indexable MSG and EML message files. You can also convert your mail to the XML or CSV formats for import into a database.
Aid4Mail 2 offers several new license options, including a one-time use license that is valid for two weeks – designed to be long enough to migrate all mail – starting at only $19.95(US). This option was based on user feedback and is already popular with Aid4Mail's customers.
