How do I activate Aid4Mail 5 from behind a proxy server?

A “proxy server” is typically used to block access to the Internet by Local Area Network (LAN) users unless they are authenticated with a user name and password. If Aid4Mail resides behind a proxy server then Internet access will also be blocked for the license activation system. In this case, Aid4Mail must know the proxy server settings in order to work. These include the server name or address, the server port number, username, and password.

You can access Aid4Mail’s “Proxy Settings” as follows:

  1. Click on the “Settings” menu item and then select “Proxy”>”HTTP”
  2. Next Aid4Mail will open the “HTTP proxy settings” screen.

On the “HTTP proxy settings” settings screen, the default option is set to “Use settings from Windows registry (default)”. You can enter your own proxy settings by selecting “User your own proxy settings”.
