Do I need to create an app-specific password when connecting to an IMAP account?

In recent years, most IMAP providers (Gmail, Yahoo!, AOL, Outlook) have started to enforce  app-specific passwords for 3rd party applications.

Aid4Mail is considered a 3rd party application and thus users who need to connect with an app-specific password when using IMAP as the source format. Once you have created an app-specific password in your account, you will use the app-specific password as the “Password” in Aid4Mail on the “IMAP Configuration Editor” screen (as shown below):
